BIOGRAPHY

Elizabeth Sharma has already played in major concert halls in Europe, including Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room at the Southbank Centre in London, Berliner Philharmonie and Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation.

During her studies, she took part in the master classes of many eminent musicians and professors, such as Marcello Abbado, Dmitri Bashkirov, Epifanio Comis, Pascal Devoyon, Christopher Elthon, Olivier Gardon, David Kuyken, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Jacques Rouvier, Dina Yoffe et al.

Elizabeth Sharma has always been active in participating at various international piano competitions across Europe and has been awarded several prizes in countries such as Germany, Italy, UK, the Czech Republic, as well as her home country Ukraine.

Among the classical composers, Elizabeth particularly holds in high esteem Baroque music, especially Handel. Her piano repertoire includes many works by Mozart, Chopin and French composers of the 20th century.

In the season of 2018, she released a CD, dedicated to the 100th anniversary commemoration of the death of Claude Debussy.

Born in Ukraine, the classical pianist Elizabeth Sharma received her first piano lessons already at the age of four. Two years later she entered the class of Elena Kolesnikova at the Kharkiv Secondary Specialized Music School. 

In 2007, she continued her studies at the Purcell School for Young Musicians, United Kingdom, under the guidance of Carole Presland. In 2012, she began her Bachelor of Arts degree at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, in the class of George Kern. Later on, she continued her Master degree in Piano Performance under the guidance of Cordelia Höfer-Teutsch in Salzburg. For the academic year of 2017/18, she received an Erasmus scholarship for one year of study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the class of David Kuyken.

Elizabeth Sharma resides in Salzburg, Austria.

Since 2022, Elizabeth has collaborated with the American International School in Salzburg, where she serves as a guest piano teacher.

Starting February 2024, Elizabeth will additionally work as a piano teacher at the Musikum Stadt Salzburg.
